The happiness and routine

I used to say this to my friends and family: Let’s not imagine that happiness is the result of rare and strange things we do for the sole purpose of happiness; we can’t achieve it often. In fact, happiness is something that just happens to us without our knowledge.Sometimes we can’t feel that we are happy, but remembering those moments makes us understand that we were.

Indeed, small things make us happy. Routine makes us happy, and occasional changes in it make us happier. We have to observe ourselves carefully to understand what makes us happy. For example, whenever I sit on a chair on my veranda, looking at the street beneath me, I feel relaxed and happy. I don’t know why, but that place and position have an immense impact on my inner mind.

While I am there, I am looking at a picture of myself, sitting there in a relaxed mood, watching the busy people passing by. Perhaps I might have watched someone like this in my boyhood, and those images linger in my soul. Or some painting or photograph impressed me. But it makes me relieved and happy. So I never miss it. Sitting there alone with a coffee and newspaper is my routine. I have at least ten little habits like this to make me happy. Thank you for the lovely video
