Didn’t the Rishis create anything?

Dear Writer Jayamohan,

I have a question that has been on my mind while watching your videos. You frequently state that the foundational aspects of our true knowledge are found in ancient cave and rock paintings created by early humans. In several of your videos, you have indicated that these cave paintings illustrate the origins of Shiva and Vishnu. If this is accurate, does it imply that our Rishis did not discover anything new? Should we conclude that their knowledge lacks value? What then is the contribution of the Siddhas and sages?

Sincerely,
A. Gnanasekar

Dear Gnanasekaran,

True knowledge is not about creation; it is about discovery. We are engaged in a process of rediscovering concepts that have always existed. This was the essence of what the Rishis and sages accomplished. They did not invent their truths; if they had, it wouldn’t be truth but merely imagination. All fundamental insights may stem from the same source that emerged alongside human thought.
