Dear Jeyamohan,
Your talk about the role of women in Indian families is truly devastating. It reflects my current state of mind. I feel like a discarded, empty shell—as you mentioned in one of your speeches.
I was a dedicated mother for more than 30 years. I quit my job and became a housewife solely to educate my children. I never read or traveled; I lived for my children. Suddenly, I feel invalid and abandoned.
It feels natural to think this way. No one can take used material with them on their journey just to show gratitude. I need to take care of myself. I should have lived my life. I missed that opportunity, and now I am too old to start a new pursuit in life.
