Even among today’s young people, many suffer from neck pain, lower back pain, stiffness in movement, and various other physical issues. In particular, there are many disorders related to the ears and the neck. These are often the result of working for long hours. There are also persistent problems such as insomnia and digestive disorders. All of these are difficulties brought about by the modern lifestyle.
When we started this initiative for intellectually engaging classes, we recognized that almost everyone involved in such work experienced the issues mentioned above. That is why we began offering regular yoga and meditation sessions. This Ayurveda course was created as a part of that ongoing effort.
This is not a medical training program. It is an introduction to how Ayurveda understands and approaches the human body. It is a starting point for knowing our own bodies. These classes are designed to offer the excitement of entering a new world and the joy of learning.
It serves as a guide to understanding and caring for our bodies in practical ways, while also helping us seek appropriate Ayurvedic medical care only when necessary.
Learning to understand one’s own body is a profound awakening. A person who does not understand how the mind and body function in harmony cannot perform at their best. This is especially valuable when combined with the practices of yoga and meditation.
These classes are conducted by Sunil Krishnan, an Ayurveda practitioner and a modern Tamil literary writer. They have already been held several times and have received an overwhelmingly positive response from participants.
Those who are interested are welcome to join.
