Dear Jeyamohan,
I was thinking about your talk on the role of old people in society. Most of them are suffering today because they were born and brought up in a social environment where people were expected to live with others, and their emotions and happiness were closely connected to those around them. There was hardly any idea of the individual in that era.
Today, however, everyone has become an individual, concerned primarily with their own well-being and happiness. Unless an old man transforms himself from a social man into a private individual, he may find it difficult to be happy. He has to discover his own happiness and find his own way of life.
