Hello Mr.Jayamohan,
I am your long time viewer, not as a literature fan but as an orator fan. I have two points to say on this “city and its negativeness view in literature “.
1. There are rat based experiments from John B. Calhoun on how cities are formed through resource planning are about.
https://eprints.lse.ac.uk/22514/1/2308Ramadams.pdf
here the experiment is about rat on population development, how communities form based on the resource, everything is done through this experiment. So, generally, from this experiment, the consideration is we will rant on the cities and its limited resource even with the whole area free. This is the psychological nature of humans, which is why in past history literature is all about negatives on cities and less happiness.
2. Cities these days not constructed as “city plan” way. some cities such as in Singapore or China have different stories which had a concentrate city plan which is sustainable and also included green environment inclusive with animals. This has shown the reasons why Indian literatures are not happy on the city.
As a lolipop i can add an another point here:
3. City is the end place of human civilization. To avoid this humans generally dont prefer for city based which is why shown back in literatures.
Thanks.
BR,
Hari
