For a new generation…

Dear Jeyamohan,

I am 16 and have been reading this site for nearly seven months. The articles about Vedanta are very useful for me. I read some articles on this subject, and they are either high-level philosophical works or simple works for juvenile readers, with a strong flavor of our school textbooks. The articles here are simple yet profound. I love these articles very verymuch. I am a student of Rishiveli School, and I have a simple introduction to this subject. These articles give me the poetical and spiritual version of Vedanta. Thank you.

Dear Ganesh,

I never expected that students might read this site, but after the bird-watching and plant-watching classes, a small set of students are reading this English site. I will publish more articles for them in the future.

Writing for juvenile readers is not an easy task because I am not a teacher, and I have no direct contact with that generation. I can’t judge their mindset and intellectual level. But like any intellectual work, we have to assume our reader and write our mind and idea, and expect suitable persons will come and read. And from my experience, I discovered that any earnest attempt will eventually find its readers sooner or later. The human mind is consistently searching for good ideas and art, and a section of people is always on the hunt to find it. That thirst is the basic spirit of human beings, and it never fails. I have hope for humanity, and that hope lies in the younger generation.

Your letter reaffirms it. Thank you.

Jeyamohan
