kaaviya, 13 yrs old, from singapore.
what i learnt and enjoyed during vellimalai:
- i enjoyed the evening lessons more than the morning lessons after the long break after the morning and afternoon lesson.
- it was very interactive because he answered each and everyone’s questions and ensured that they understood what they were unsure of.
- one thing i liked during the lessons, is that he gave us 20 minute break time to let us free ourselves like stretching or sharing their opinion on the lesson to help calm down their minds and to process whatever he had taught us.
- he even gave us examples of how each rhythm sounds like, so we are not confused.
- during the 20 minute break time, we drank hot piping tea for the cold weather and to clear more doubts from other people.
- it seemed like he was not disturbed or annoyed by anyones’ questions as well.
- another thing i liked, is that we bonded and sang songs after the dinner outside the dining room. it was filled with our laughters and our beautiful voices.
- the only negative thing i despised, was that i had been separated from my father, and i had to sleep next to complete strangers. but eventually, i stopped thinking about the negative stuff, and focused on the postitive stuff. like, i came here to learn about music and in the future, if i have no choice but to sleep alone, i have to adjust and just do it.
- the reason why i despised it so much, was because i grew up sleeping with one of my parents and never alone. but to be honest, i had some of the best sleeps at vellimalai because i prefer cold than hot, so it was very comfortable for me to sleep in.
- the wind and the atmosphere in the early morning was my ideal weather, not that much heavy raining (even though i love it), the cold air touching my arms. the fog just passing by me, i even saw it pass through with my own eyes.
- so i would come here again but with my mother or sister or basically any women i know and am close to.
