Since moving to Chennai a few months back, I have been looking for a place where I can discuss books, ideas, authors, genre, style and all things literature, with ease of mind. Manasa Book Club fits right in. I believe Kirupa and Chaidhanya’s focus on the Indian fictional landscape will introduce me to works I am hitherto unaware of. On the plus side, the short route to its venue from the local railway station is sided by big canopied trees, making for a pleasant walk 🙂

I am yet to fully understand how this will improve my reading. But the discussion gives me energy to go further. It shows where I am and what could be possible.
It is a Christmas gift to see a family friend team who are in harmony at different wavelengths and even at discord too. This is one of those rare times I see people speaking sincerely from their heart to another’s heart. When people see you like that I am afraid of failing to reciprocate the same and often fail . Yet they don’t carry that over. They are like, this is the first time I am meeting you.
Arunmozhi amma’s intensive, immediate and vibrant expressions, Naveen’s related wide reading and deep views and mediation, slow weighted sayings of Chaidhanya, pointing of underlying metaphor by Kirupalakshmi, enthusiastic key points of Sakthivel, smile, interpretations and expressions of others. It was very rewarding.
Looking forward to the next session.
