The very same thing you mention in this video happened in my life ten years ago. When a European friend visited, he asked me, “All the statues in your town seem to be of your political leaders. There are many statues of actors too. Countless statues. Their statues are on every street. But where are the statues of scholars, scientists, and engineers?”
I replied that all those statues had been erected by the politicians themselves. There is no place here for thinkers or scientists. That is because putting up a statue is a form of propaganda. They are telling us that they are the important ones, and we believe them. Even in our school textbooks, there are no thinkers. Instead, we study politicians as though they were thinkers. If we ask why we remain such a backward nation, this is the reason.
