Our Way Of Teaching

Dear Jeyamohan,

I am Aravind Prabhakar, a practicing architect. Apart from general professional struggles, I spend the rest of my time understanding life in its full generality. It all started with Periyar. And from him it gradually extended to Ambedkar, Ayn Rand, Aristotle, and a few others in the beginning at the surface level only. But as the time passed, our Indian thought and philosophy gradually started seeping into my life when I started reading Indian novels.

It was a revelation like no other when the very idea of Brahmam hit me for the first time. It blew my mind to a thousand pieces. From then on, the same world began to sense a bit differently to me. Eventually I started spending time learning about Adi Shankarar and Advaita philosophy. It was soothing at the beginning. But later it only seemed to be moving forward with no end to see. As a person, I found difficulty grasping all these philosophical abstracts just from reading and thinking all alone. I thought a real-hand experience learning community would help.  And just when it started seeming hopelessly tiring, I came across your videos, instantly, IT FELT LIKE A CALL!  And in the next minute I could clearly see what I should do next to clear my confused mind of all the questions and queries that have been going into my head incessantly for the last 5 to 6 years.

I believe that UNIFIED WISDOM is where I can lose myself to get a hold on my life for a better understanding and realization of spirituality and creativity. I believe learning directly from a guru is essential to realizing the truths of this universe. I realized raw facts and thoughts from books alone cannot make a fully blossomed man on this earth, but the natural interaction from the guru himself can shed some light on the darkness that I’m walking in.And also I have been following your videos since the inception of UNIFIED WISDOM. From the first moment, I had been captivated by this GURUKULA way of learning ideas, which is part of our tradition. Truly, in this modern era, I believe this must be a never before experience for a guy like me who has been just another mediocre product of the prevailing educational system. I would like to explore art, culture, history, philosophy, and all combining spirituality from your unified system. I’m so eager to fully surrender myself to this new methodology of learning. And I’m falling short of words to show the amount of willingness that I have, to get incorporated into this system of learning, sir. I do hope for a positive reply from your side.

Aravind Prabhakar

Dear Arvind.

I am pleased to know about your interest in philosophical and spiritual learning. It’s understandable that after completing a basic reading level, you became confused and lost in the inner discussions of philosophy. I have previously written a detailed essay on this topic. (see ).

Of course, you need a proper teacher, an environment, and a slow educational process. However, we are currently not operating a full-time Gurukula due to the absence of full-fledged teachers. We are actually conducting classes on philosophy and related subjects.

As you know, Vedanta is itself an integrated subject; it tends to amalgamate all spiritual and philosophical knowledge into one vision. So we are organizing classes for Indian philosophy, western philosophy, Christian theology, and Islamic theology.

These are three-day courses, staying with a teacher and learning directly from him. Attending those classes will undoubtedly help you progress in your quest and provide you with new insights. We can see and learn together.
