Bird watching classes

This is the third birdwatching event we are hosting. Birdwatching is one of the best ways to be with nature. It is a reliable gateway to escape today’s internet-mobile addiction. It provides a direct experience that extends beyond the confines of a cyber prison.

The children who came to the previous classes gained experience about the vast world of birds. Many children have posted over a hundred bird records on various websites. Your participation is not only a training course but also joining a global community.

Birdwatching is about learning patience. It is the experience of being in harmony with nature. Birds introduce nature as a whole. People all over the world are teaching ways of connecting with nature, such as birdwatching, due to the lack of attention span among children today.

Whenever I go there, I constantly see schools in Western countries organizing them. They teach elementary school children to pitch a tent in the forest, stay there, observe, and record them. They themselves later blossom into direct field researchers. What we are conducting is a beginning.

Vijayabharathi and Easwara Murthy, who run the birdwatching group we have formed, are conducting this group. This class will take place within a protected forest-like complex.
