Emburan and Philosophy.

The movie Emburan is now in theatres. What is the core element of superhero movies? Why are people so fascinated by superhero movies? We call them “superhero” movies. The actors who play these kinds of roles become our idols, and we are extending their image beyond the movies. We admire Mohan Lal personally as a superhero. Why? They are not humans; they are superhumans. The word Emburan means “the lord”. That word belongs to the old heroic age, or feudal age.

The idea of Superman is actually developed by German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. Various rulers and politicians throughout the world immediately adopted his concept of the ‘uber man’. They imagined that they could create a new world from their imagination. They can control politics, the economy, and society. They are the lords of their time. They created devastating effects throughout the world.

We hate those heroes of history who created chaos and destruction. Yet we love them secretly. They have admirers around the world. Even today, new supermen continue to emerge from this archetype. Many names are associated with this archetype. There are hundreds of Mohan Lals and Rajnikanths in contemporary history.

Why? This ability is due to the existence of a superman within our daydreams and subconscious. Every man is an ‘uber man’ in his private imagination. That is why we associate with these superheroes so easily.

Just imagine: to understand a simple movie like Empuran, we need a philosophical understanding. Learning Western philosophy a bit tremendously improves your modern sensibility and understanding of the current world.
