A perfect balance

 

Dear Jeyamohan,

Your short discourse about the difference between Western and Eastern philosophy is really thought-provoking. I have been living in Europe for nearly 18 years, and I have observed a kind of polarization among Indian writers and academicians. They either say that Indian philosophy is the pinnacle of human thought because it has ‘vision’ in it, whereas Western philosophy is realistic and logical, or they totally dismiss Indian philosophy as metaphysical and based on beliefs. You have a perfect balance of thought, and you are telling both the merits and demerits very clearly. I think you got this balance from your guru, who placed himself between east and west.
