Dear Jeyamohan,
I am an atheist and have never visited Indian temples. My family were also strong atheists; my late father was an ardent supporter of the Dravidian movement.
I visited Egypt last year and saw the magnificent temples there. While discussing the temples of Egypt, my guide mentioned that there are many temples in India still in use for worship, and he expressed a desire to visit those temples to observe the rituals himself. He said since those rituals are aged, they were essential to humanity; we can understand the mindset of our ancestors through them.
It was an eye-opening experience. I considered temples as a place of worship, never imagining them as the centers of culture and history. I watched your video recently in which you talked about this particular idea. I want to participate in these classes in the future.
Thanking you
