Vairamuthu and trivializing

Dear Jeyamohan,

The speech on the Vairamuthu debate is intriguing and inspiring. We are baiting a person if we find him against our faith. However, we do not perceive anything negative when a person shares our faith, even if they trivialize our books and philosophy. Our speakers and preachers are actually in a race to lure the crowds; crowds mean money, fame, and power. To attract the crowds, our speakers and preachers are lowering themselves to the audiences’ levels. The unfortunate reality is that speakers who genuinely relate to the lower masses tend to attract more crowds than those who are more educated. So there is a race to fall to the bottom of culture and intellect. This is the pathetic situation we have today.
