Why are Kakkan and Kamaraj important topics of discussion?

Dear Jeyamohan,

The discussion about idealists around us is an intriguing piece. I often wonder about these common people who discuss idealism and lament its absence today. However, they never respect or support the idealists who are living among us. In their view, today’s idealists are individuals who don’t know how to live. They tend to deride and slander them. These people always support some form of power and try to gain something from it. Their rhetoric on idealism is nothing less than a veil for their personal corruption. The discussions about Kakkan and Kamaraj are merely techniques to shield their own fraudulent actions.
