We had a great session at USC yday! It was very well received, with nearly 40 students in attendance. The event was excellently organized by the students. The two moderators did a fantastic job, they asked insightful questions about Je’s views on literature and, most importantly, his book. The session lasted about 45 minutes, followed by an engaging Q&A and book signing.
One of the highlights was a moving moment when a student of Kannada descent, born and raised in the U.S., became emotional while speaking privately with Je. She shared how deeply she resonated with his talk and expressed how happy she was to see an Indian speaker featured so prominently at such an event.
Many students came up to Je afterward to share their thoughts. One student of Bengali descent mentioned that he was truly inspired by Je’s perspective and speech. He said his biggest takeaway was the motivation to write something connected to his Bengali roots, a meaningful reflection of how impactful the session was.
