Dear Jeyamohan,
While I was a student of economics and commerce in Calcutta during the 1960s, my professor, Sri Ranga, used to say one thing: “Your subject is a soulless demon, a kind of Asura.”
He explained that, like any Asura, it possesses a magical power to lure us, to suffocate us, and to use us for its own purposes. An Asura always has a grand power to satiate our intellect and sense of symmetry—Asura sculptor Mayan is considered the best architect ever.
“Have a drop of poetry daily, a drop of the nectar of great bhakti every morning.” he advised us. I adopted this advice throughout my life, and it has saved me. I noticed the same advice in your talk. Great.
Anandram
