Butterflies do not grow up!

Dear Jeyamohan,

Are you happy to be a writer? Don’t you want to be more? Don’t you have a wish to become someone big?

If a person wants to be active, they must have a desire to achieve more and grow. Their path before him should be long and far. You are active; I mean that. You are one of the most active people I know. Don’t you have the drive to move forward?

RMK Kannan

Dear Kannan,

A larva becomes a butterfly after an active worm’s life, where eating is its only activity. It dreams of becoming big, of being something else. After long meditation, it gains wings and color.

A butterfly never grows; it never dreams of anything else. It simply flutters in the flower garden. It is active every moment, yet it does nothing significant. Its only job is to drink nectar.

It creates a forest because it is destined to do so.
