Dear Jayamohan,
Your talk on uncontrolled sexuality has been eye-opening for me. It is a fact that we cannot separate modern consumerism from uncontrolled sexuality because, in this age, sexual relationships are often viewed as a consuming activity by our younger generation. They do not see it as a human relationship or as a development of an emotional bond with another person. Instead, they view it as merely enjoying a moment in life or treating the human body as a material object. The boy enjoys the girl’s body as a commodity, and the girl enjoys the boy’s body in the same way. This kind of consumerism enhances the desire to consume more and seek different varieties. This is a fundamental problem in modern relationships, which can eventually lead to depression and mental illness. Unless we redefine sexual relationships as a means of developing human bonds and as a foundation for building institutions to nurture future generations, we cannot control our sexuality in the face of this kind of uncontrolled madness.
