Dear Jayamohan,
I read and watch your articles and videos all the time. Initially, the insults directed at you drew me in. People on the internet often use your name along with these insults. A typical DMK political campaigner talks in a rude and funny way. I first heard your name in a video where someone talked about you in a very rude way and called you “this person.” After that, I heard more people say negative things about you. That’s when I started to read your articles and other works. I have read three of your books, and today I feel like I am your student.
My question is about how very sure of themselves people in the Dravidian, communist, or Hindutva movements seem to be. They say what they think with a lot of anger, even though they don’t know much! It’s wonderful how sure they are when they make fun of and criticize. I recently met someone online who misquoted parts of one of your books, claiming to have thoroughly analyzed it and asserting that no one would read it again. And that was all.
Seeing this level of self-confidence makes me think twice about being too sure of my own opinions. This realization makes me want to keep doing science. I think that young people today should remember not to become ignorant like the people who are involved in politics. Thanks.
