Sleep and depression.

Dear Jeyamhan,

I am eagerly watching your sharp and short videos on various subjects. I noticed that you mentioned in one of your talks that depression is actually a result of our physical laziness. It is true.

When we are depressed, we often feel lazy and alone. Occasionally we overwork or engage in excessive physical exercise. This overworking usually lasts for one or two days, and then we tend to plunge back into a deep melancholy mood, which leads to physical laziness.

Physical laziness reduces blood flow to our brains and makes us feel depressed, whereas physical exercise increases blood circulation and keeps us active. In fact, playing games with friends provides the necessary liberation from loneliness and depression at the same time.
