Dear Jeyamohan,
Your video contains a reference to the Sri Lankan issue. You stated that if Sri Lankan politicians had collectively taken the stance that the actions of the Sri Lankan government against Tamils in 2009 constituted war crimes, they could have taken the matter to the UN and secured some level of acceptance; through this, they might have obtained redress or received explanations regarding the missing persons. You had observed that adopting the position of “genocide” was unlikely to gain international acceptance—since nations like those in Europe viewed the events as a civil war—and this has indeed proven to be true. Yet, back then, some people tried to lecture you on the definition of genocide. One might even wonder if the extreme stance of labelling it “genocide” was actually an indirect strategy to shield the Sri Lankan chauvinists who perpetrated those attacks against the Tamils. However, some people on social media spread the false claim that you had said no injustice whatsoever occurred in Sri Lanka. It was only after watching that video that I truly understood why you describe the social media sphere as a circle of mental illness.
