Smile!

Dear Mohan,

I have been watching your videos eagerly for quite some time now. In fact, I have watched many of them more than once. I find them full of energy, hope and enthusiasm. There is something very refreshing about the way you look at life and speak about it. Your words often give people a sense of confidence and encourage them to approach life with a positive mind.

That is why I wanted to tell you something, and I hope you will not misunderstand me. I am saying this only because I appreciate your work and would like to see the best in you.

Sometimes, when you come across certain false ideas, prejudices or what you consider to be dangerous attitudes, you become very angry and agitated. I can understand why you feel strongly about such things. Your anger comes, I think, from a genuine concern for people and from your desire to challenge ideas that you believe are harmful.

But sometimes that anger comes through too directly in your videos. When that happens, I feel that it slightly takes away from the quality of what you are trying to communicate. Even when we are confronting foolishness or falsehood, there is a greater strength in responding with calmness and clarity. A person who remains composed while disagreeing strongly can sometimes make a much deeper impression than someone who expresses his anger openly.

I always expect you to be a pleasant and cheerful person, because that is one of the qualities that makes your videos attractive to me. You have the ability to give people a positive outlook on life, and I hope you will continue to cultivate that quality. You need not hide your convictions or soften your criticism. But perhaps you can express them without allowing anger to become the dominant emotion.

Your optimism, energy and confidence are valuable. I hope you will protect those qualities even when you are confronted with ideas that irritate or disturb you. There is a certain dignity in remaining calm in the presence of foolishness.

Please take this only as a friendly suggestion from someone who watches your videos with genuine interest and affection.

With warm regards,
A.R.K.
