Dear J
Please let me know when the next Saivasiddhanta camp will take place. I missed the last camp due to personal reasons. I also felt unable to attend the Vaishnava class.
Sudhakar
Dear Sudhakar,
I receive many such letters. Many people express genuine interest but are unable to attend the event. However, the majority are not genuinely interested in attending. They want to come, but they create excuses themselves.
Philosophy classes do not attract a large number of participants. If fewer people attend, it will result in a financial loss for us. You should not assume classes will continue and you can attend whenever you want.
We will stop those classes if there is a persistently low participation rate. We set a limit on our losses. People like you will come later and email me saying, ‘Oh, I missed it.’
If these groups were not there, as far as I know, there would be no place in Tamil Nadu today to study Saivism, Vaishnavism, Western philosophy, Islamic philosophy, and Christian philosophy in a modern way. If these groups were to disappear, Tamil Nadu would no longer offer any opportunities for studying these subjects. That’s why we are persistently pursuing them. With continuous losses.
The emails from individuals like you, who are perpetually uncertain, mock our mission. Thus far, you have inquired about four events without attending any. I am blocking your email. We do not need people like you. Only those who are genuinely interested will suffice.
