Dear Jeyamohan,
We can see a gradual development in Western thought. At first, there was a revolt against the hegemony of Christianity and its beliefs. Then, anti-religious discourse emerged into general rational ideas, paving the way for the concept of rational thought. These developments form the foundation of modern scientific thought. In India, we have only developed anti-religious ideas and have not progressed beyond that. This is the problem with modern Indian thought; we never enter into the realm of reason. Your talk on this topic is useful.
