Dear Jeyamohan,
I watched your video regarding atheists. Forgetting God typically occurs during youth—that phase of life when our ego is at its peak, asserting itself with a resounding “Me! Myself!.” It is only when we realize that this world is constituted of various forces far beyond our control—and that we cannot fully conquer it relying solely on our intellect and strength—that we turn back toward God. This cycle repeats itself, time and again.
When making such a return, the truly intellectual endeavor today lies in seeking a concept of the Divine that is more logical and transcendent than the conventional notion of God. One need not even call it “God”; one could instead refer to it as a “cosmic force” or a “cosmic principle.” This is precisely what philosophy ought to offer in our times. However, such a philosophical line of thought is utterly non-existent in India today. Here, both the worship of God and the rejection of God remain rooted in nothing more than blind, foolish belief. There is no logical belief in God, nor is there a logical atheism.
