Experiencing nature

Dear Jeyamohan,

Your video talk on experiencing nature is a very important one. In fact, I feel that we have not yet developed a true understanding of nature in India. We tend to look at nature merely as a resource to be used for our own purposes. If something in nature does not serve any immediate practical use, we often see no reason to preserve it and end up destroying it.

We treat our lakes as garbage dumps and our rivers as places to dispose of waste. We have forgotten that nature has a value of its own, beyond its usefulness to human beings.

Your talk brings attention to this fundamental problem in our relationship with nature. I believe it is important that we begin to understand and experience nature in a deeper sense.

With regards,
Kumar Murukesh
