The eye is the key

Dear Jeyamohan,

I watched the discussion with A.V. Manikandan. I gained insight into his deep understanding and sensitivity regarding modern Western paintings and art from the discussion. He discusses the importance of our eyes in the process of understanding the world. It is an intriguing point. The old cave paintings from the Stone Age show us how visual symbols were the premier way of communication. The roots of our paintings are there. Whatever we draw, we cannot deviate away from the original modes of our magnificent cave paintings. It shows the truth: the tradition of art is not a system developed by man in the process of culture. Instead, art created human culture.
