Dear Jeyamohan,
I was rummaging through your videos on various subjects. I am an ardent fan of Mozart and saw the fascinating conversation in which Chaidanya is slightly degrading the genius. I can understand the point; this letter is not about that subject. What I observed from the visitor numbers of those videos is that people are watching videos about depression, loneliness, and other concentration issues. It seems they are not interested in subjects like Western music, politics, or philosophy. That is a curious thing, right?
Ramana
Dear Ramana,
That is quite obvious. People with some kind of depression and attention deficiency problems are usually watching too many YouTube videos because they cannot concentrate and read. Naturally they are attracted towards the videos about their problems. For example, overweight individuals often watch diet videos continuously, which can be seen as a form of daydreaming. It is like a person in a cell dreaming about a way to escape.
In fact, they should not watch these videos about depression as a routine; they have to try and train themselves to listen to other subjects and work hard to create an interest in a subject. But they don’t do it.
But the problem with the people with depression is that they usually read about remedies for their problems but never practice them. Only a few can break the shackles on their legs and walk ahead. If a person wants to break from that evil cycle, he has to move forward and involve himself in activities. I used to say it in a single word, “Get away from there.”
We are organizing these camps and other classes mainly for them.
