People who worry about recognition and status according to their qualifications should do one thing: they should stop seeking validation from institutions or individuals. Instead, they should go out into society or the business world and test the actual worth of their qualifications.
A qualification is like a product that you bring to the marketplace. The market ultimately determines its value. Of course, one’s ability to present and market oneself also plays a role in this process.
I have seen many friends who constantly complained that their qualifications were not being properly recognized. Some of them left their jobs and ventured out on their own. After trying their luck with startups and independent ventures, many eventually returned to salaried employment. But they no longer complained. By then, they had learned their true worth and understood how value is determined in the real world.
