Boredom kills!

Dear Jeyamohan,

The two videos on boredom and depression are very useful to me personally. My problem is boredom, but actually I understood it very late. I was thinking I have serious concerns about this society and am worrying about its political future. I was quarreling continuously on the internet, and I thought I was working for a cause.

I had comrades and sympathizers for my activities. I had an accident and was in bed for more than one month. At that time, I suddenly found that the internet community was moving on without giving a flinch of thought about me.

It was a shocking experience. When I returned, I could not cope with the new mood and themes. I lost my friends as well. But it was good; I found my problem is actually boredom. I am involved in gardening for fun and as part of my physiotherapy.

But it engrossed me, and now I am a serious gardener; I am writing small articles on it as well. The reality is we are bored, and we are making ourselves depressed to overcome our boredom.

Boredom could be conquered only through serious work or art. not through any mental engagement, only through activity. I want to say to anyone like me, this advice is ‘Boredom kills.’
