Poetry and Spirituality
Dear Jeyamohan
Poetry and spirituality provide a valuable response. However, poetry primarily stems from the human id and basic emotions, which are inherently opposed to spiritual exploration. Particularly, it is against meditation. The human mind is a roaring ocean; meditation is a trip into its silent depths. Literature is actually talking only about the waves, not the depth.

Dear Kamath
The famous line “Waves are nothing but the water, so is the sea” is attributed to Guru Admananda. I insist it is my answer to your question.
Yes, literature is emerging from the waves of mundane life. But excellent literature will soar up to the summit of human spirituality. Therefore, our great spiritual icons were also renowned poets.
