Dear J
I have been watching your videos on philosophy consistently. I have gained clarity on many questions I had regarding philosophy. I feel that these videos constitute a balanced philosophy class. I am expecting more.
Senthilraj
Dear Senthil,
In these videos, I am addressing a particular issue—confronting the negativity of Tamil minds toward philosophy.
There are two misconceptions about philosophy in the Tamil context. One of these misconceptions is the belief that philosophy is unnecessary and dull. Another misconception is the notion that philosophy is excessively intricate and hinders clarity. My aim is to remove those misconceptions and explain why philosophy education is necessary.
Philosophy is a necessary basic training for every thinking person. It is essential for thoughts to be constructive, not just invalid inner travels. Philosophy is a powerful fortress for spiritual seekers. It eliminates doubts and distractions.
Philosophy is subtle and not complicated. If you learn it properly, it will be a very exciting learning experience. I am attempting to make these points clear through my words.
I encourage my friends to circulate these videos among their friends. Even those who don’t read Tamil can understand them by listening.
